Catch plenty of live music for Savannah St. Patrick’s weekend

13 Mar 2017

If you’re looking to enhance your St. Patrick’s Day experience in Savannah with some live music, the city has you covered.

From traditional Irish folk music to the popular punk rock version of Celtic music, there will be live music in Savannah over the entire weekend. Here’s a list of recommendations from Do Savannah.

Kevin Barry’s Irish Pub, 117 W. River St.

This is Savannah’s Irish bar. There is live Celtic music at Kevin Barry’s every night. If you’re looking for more traditional styles, this is where you want to be. For the St. Patrick’s weekend, music starts at 2 p.m. each day, with a $5 cover charge. Get more info at kevinbarrys.com.

March 16: Carroll Brown, Frank Emerson, Harry O’Donoghue

March 17: Carroll Brown, Frank Emerson, Harry O’Donoghue, Seldom Sober

March 18: Carroll Brown, Frank Emerson, Harry O’Donoghue

The Rail Pub, 405 W. Congress St.

One of Savannah’s wildest Irish bars has a great lineup of live music. In For A Penny, which you can read more about in our interview here, will be playing back-to-back nights with an opener on Friday. Get more info at therailpub.com.

March 16: In For A Penny

March 17: In For A Penny, Damon Duo

McDonough’s, 21 E. McDonough St.

As is tradition, McDonough’s will have bagpipers playing throughout the St. Patrick’s Day weekend. We recommend just stopping in at any point for that fun. More info at mcdonoughssavannah.com.

The Jinx, 127 W. Congress St.

One of Savannah’s best live music venues is ready for St. Patrick’s Day. Thursday kicks off at 9 p.m. with a killer lineup of touring bands and one great local act.

Celebrate on the big day with a healthy dose of Americana and alt-country starting at noon. If you’re still alive on Saturday, the Day After Party starts at noon and features a great lineup of acts, including a local super group. Ready for some punk versions of Irish music? This is where you want to be. Cover charges vary through the weekend. More info at facebook.com/thejinx912.
