There are endless options for entertainment every night in Savannah, but New Year's Eve offers an even greater abundance of fun festivities. The Hostess City wouldn't have it any other way!

Of course, with so much going on, it's difficult to narrow down your options. But don't fret, because Do Savannah is always here to help!

Where to start? Well, you can't go wrong with New Year's Eve on the Savannah Riverfront. Besides music from Those Cats and A Nickel Bag of Funk, this free event offers midnight fireworks and a new addition this year: The raising of a 6-foot to-go cup sponsored by Wet Willie's. Who needs a ball drop?

Another River Street option is City Market's New Year's Eve celebration. Also free, this event offers plenty of drink specials from surrounding bars and restaurants, plus music from Southern rock group High Velocity.

If Tybee Island is in your sights, there are plenty of spots from which to watch their New Year's Eve fireworks. But don't stay out too late if you want to make it to the Tybee Polar Plunge to start your 2014 with a brisk dip in the ocean!

Looking for family-friendly events so the kids aren't out too late? Plenty of those, too. Skatefest 2013 is still going on at the Civic Center, Puppet People offers a morning workshop for children, Savannah Harbor Foundation Festival of Lights is still open and Charles Dickens Victorian Savannah Christmas Walks are still being offered.

Maybe a cruise down the Savannah River is more your style. If so, there are two options offered from Savannah Riverboat Cruises.

Nearly all of your favorite bars are offering New Year's Eve parties, but we recommend calling ahead just to be sure your destination will be open.

The evening's music options are too numerous to list here, but you'll find them all highlighted in our schedule below. You can always find a comprehensive live music list each week in our Big Calendar, by the way.

As always, if you're not walking to your destination, please plan to have a designated driver. If you have no other options, free Tow to Go services, which include a ride home (within a 10-mile radius) and a tow for your vehicle, are available through Jan. 1. This service is sponsored by AAA and Anheuser-Busch and is available to members and non-members alike. Important things to know: Tow trucks can take no more than two people home; you can't make an appointment; and it is designed to be used as a last resort, so again, please have a designated driver. Call 855-286-9246 to use the service. Learn more here.

We hope this helps you sort through the many options available for your Savannah New Year's Eve. Have a safe and happy 2014, everyone!
