"Hungry Eyes," "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" and "Do You Love Me."
It's hard to pick a favorite song from the 1987 film "Dirty Dancing." While the music is unforgettable, perhaps it's the timeless love story of Baby and Johnny, along with those iconic dance numbers, that made the movie so popular.
Savannah audiences will have the chance to relive the classic tale with a live experience made just for the fans.
"Dirty Dancing: The Classic Story On Stage" North American tour will stop in Savannah on Jan. 9 at the Civic Center's Johnny Mercer Theatre. The show begins at 7:30 p.m.
The performance features many of the original songs from the movie soundtrack along with '60s classics from Otis Redding, Gene Chandler, The Chantels, The Drifters, Marvin Gaye, Lesley Gore, Mickey & Sylvia, The Surfaris, Doris Troy and Django Reinhardt.
This show was originally performed in 2004 at the Theatre Royal in Sydney, Australia, and has since traveled throughout Australia and New Zealand before heading to London, where it was sold out for six months.
This latest tour marks the third year of the North American tour, where the company has performed many sold-out shows and received great reviews. This tour also brings a new director and cast, including Aaron Patrick Craven as Johnny Castle and Kaleigh Courts as Francis "Baby" Houseman.
