Vox Populi: ‘I, like our new president and his administration, believe in alternative facts.’

23 Mar 2017

“I’m the person who complained about the lack of female grand marshals in our annual parade. In response a suggestion for Irish grand marshals was made. I appreciated the reply and want people to know it’s important to keep an open mind to the suggestions of others.”

“I do believe that Daylight Savings Time adds an additional hour of sunlight. I, like our new president and his administration, believe in alternative facts.”

“I intend to maintain my subscription to the Savannah Morning News as long as Andrew Lawrence is writing for them. Finally someone who has got some sense!”

“Hey soldiers: What’s it like having a draft dodger as commander-in-chief? I’m a veteran, and I think it sucks!!”

“Sad commentary $1.3 trillion in student loan debt being ignored by self-serving young people who think society owes them. Another reason for school vouchers.”

“You guys don’t get it: Mark Streeter is an editorial cartoonist. It’s his job to poke fun at political people and issues. Where were you complainers when President Obama was in office and Mark poked fun at him?”

“Another year, another thanks to the heightened law enforcement for St. Patrick’s Day. Y’all have great perspective. Folks are drinking but, if they act reasonably and don’t show their butts, you let them go on their way. Thank you for letting the city have a good time. “

“I’m so glad our police department has arrested a lot of gang members. I hope they keep them in jail a long, long time. There will be a lot less crime on our streets when they can catch all of them.”
