After moving here from Carbondale, Ill., to join the Savannah Morning News copy desk, I was delighted (and intimidated) to be assigned the role of DO Savannah editor. The 700-mile trip was an eye-opener, although some things remain the same. The Beatles, for instance - I was so happy to see Savannah has the same love and appreciation as I do. "50 Years Ago Today: A Beatles Celebration" on Feb. 7 is guaranteed to raise a smile.About this week's cover of DO Savannah's print edition: It's a quote from the 1978 Robert Zemeckis film "I Wanna Hold Your Hand." In the movie's opening minutes, Ed Sullivan warns his crew the show will be "Elvis Presley times four!" I've seen the footage; even if Ed didn't really say it, the warning still rings true. So if I don't keel over from excitement, I'll be around to write up our top 10 events list, which you'll only find here on www.dosavannah.com. It includes the best of all this city has to offer, from bands to burlesque and beyond. Feedback is welcome, so if there's anything that you want, if there's anything I can do ... Heather Henley is the editor of DO Savannah.
