As a special preview before Congregation Mickve Israel launches its Sunday Concert Series, the Armstrong Atlantic State University Department of Art, Music and Theater hosts soprano Elissa Alvarez and Velvet Caravan at 8 p.m. March 1 at the Armstrong Fine Arts Auditorium.

For an encore performance, which also marks the beginning of the Sunday Concert Series, Velvet Caravan, along with violinist Ricardo Ochoa and guitarist Sasa Strunjas, will play at 3:30 p.m. March 2 at the sanctuary of the third-oldest Jewish congregation in the nation.

Admission to the March 1 event is free. Tickets to the March 2 event are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.
