Have some fun in the sun May 12 as SCAD's annual Sand Arts Festival returns to Tybee Island. It's free to watch the creation of these sandcastle sculptures, and with thousands of dollars in prizes on the line, you can bet these artists come ready to compete. See more photos and get the story here

The Collective Face Theatre Ensemble gets steamy for the summer, presenting Tennesee William's Pulitzer-winning play, "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof." The performance, which kicks off May 12 and runs for three weekends, will close out the ensemble's fifth season. Be prepared, this one is not for the kiddos! Get all the details here

Due to the weather forecast, Historic Savannah Foundation's Block Party on May 13 has been rescheduled to June 3. This event closes out the annual Savannah Preservation Festival and also celebrates host Guerry Lumber's 90th anniversary. Full story here
