Do Savannah's top picks: Time to dance with Street Clothes on 'The Bridge'

24 May 2017

Do editor Heather Henley joins Kim Gusby and Renee LaSalle on WSAV's "The Bridge" to preview the best the weekend has to offer. Read more in Renee's weekly column.

On our cover this week, Savannah band Street Clothes goes retro with a new album. Celebrate the release of "Superautomatica" with a dance party May 26 at El-Rocko Lounge. Admission is free, but you have to be 21 or older. Read all about the new music in our interview here

Telfair Museums' Jepson Center hopes to open up a conversation with its latest exhibit, "Generation." The showcase features the work of three Iraqi-Canadian women, a mother and her two daughters, and includes photography, film, painting, book-making and some site-specific elements. Hear from the artists and curator themselves with an opening night reception and panel discussion May 25. See the full story here

Runners of all ages will want to gear up for the Two Hundred Club's annual fundraiser, the Savannah Mile. Some tough first responders and military members even take part in the Heroes Heat, running the race in full gear! Learn more about how the club helps local families in our story here

Last but not least, get ready for an interactive, educational day the kids will remember at Savannah Children's Museum's annual Bug Fest. Along with bug yoga and presentations from Coastal Empire Beekeepers and Oatland Island Wildlife Center, you'll also have the chance to join the "Eat-A-Bug Club!" If that's not your taste, there will be food trucks on site, as well. Full details here

Look for Heather's weekend preview on "The Bridge" from 11 a.m.-noon every Wednesday on WSAV-TV or catch the live stream.

Check out the full event listings on Do's Big Calendar.
