SCAD Holiday Happenings
11 a.m. Dec. 21. Trustees Theater, 216 E. Broughton St. Savannah College of Art and Design will host a variety of winter festivities. The revelry begins at 11 a.m. with "Mickey's Christmas Carol." From 1-3 p.m., Santa and his elves will entertain children of all ages with holiday treats and beverages. Snap photos with Christmas cut-outs and enjoy songs by the Pixie Stix. Santa and his helpers will also hand out sticker books and paint-by-number kits. At 3 p.m., watch "Rise of the Guardians" in 3-D. Then at 7 p.m., see "Meet Me In St. Louis." All screenings are free and open to the public with donation of a dry or canned good, and all moviegoers will receive a complimentary popcorn and soda.

Miss Alfred Ely Beach High School Scholarship Pageant

The contestants will showcase their unique talents, model formal wear and conduct an interview before a select panel of judges. Habitat Savannah announces application dates
Through Jan. 20. Habitat for Humanity Savannah is opening its 2014 Habitat Homeownership process on Jan. 13. Eligibility is limited to Chatham County residents who have completed and submitted their pre-qualification applications prior to the 5 p.m. Jan. 20 deadline. Applications submitted following that deadline will not be considered. Mountainfilm on Tour
Jan. 17-18. Trustees Theater, 216 E. Broughton St. Mountainfilm on Tour Savannah, a nonprofit film festival designed to educate audiences about environmental issues in different cultures, will host its fifth annual film festival from Jan. 17-18. The tour will showcase independent films from this year's Telluride Mountainfilm Festival. These films celebrate triumphs in human society and nature. The Jan. 18 event will include a morning coffee discussion, community bike ride and family matinee film session, culminating with the final film session at 7 p.m. Evening film sessions will be followed by Q&A discussions with filmmakers. A portion of proceeds from Mountainfilm on Tour Savannah will be used to benefit local community causes and nonprofits that support the mission of Telluride Mountainfilm On Tour. 'Time Starts Now!' fundraiser to benefit LDSS
Jan. 23. Benedictine Military School's gym. The Lowcountry Down Syndrome Society invites Savannah-area businesses and groups to participate in the second annual "Time Starts Now!" competition. The event will be held Jan. 23 at Benedictine Military School's gym. Teams will compete in "Minute To Win It"-style challenges, building confidence, raising funds and having fun all at the same time. Proceeds will benefit Lowcountry Down Syndrome Society programs and activities. Spectators are invited to attend and cheer on their favorite team. Bonaventure Cemetery tours
Second Sunday of the month. The Bonaventure Historical Society conducts tours of Bonaventure Cemetery on the second Sunday of each month. Tours are offered at 2 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. These walking tours step off from the same spot, which is marked with a sign. Tours last about an hour and are free, but donations are welcome.
