A westside convenience store was robbed Monday night by a lone gunman, Athens-Clarke County police said.

The robbery occurred at about 10 p.m. when a young man entered Jimbo’s on Baxter Street. While brandishing a handgun, the robber demanded cash from the register, police said.

The clerk complied and the robber fled on foot. Police did not disclose how much money was stolen.

Police on Wednesday said they were reviewing surveillance video of the robbery in an attempt to identify possible suspects.

The suspect is a white male in his 20s, 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-9, 170-200 pounds, and clean shaven. He was wearing a light blue long sleeve shirt, black shorts, a pair of red, black and white Nike shoes and a grey baseball cap with a black bill. The suspect fled in an easterly direction toward South Church Street.
