A new casual dining location officially opened its doors in Savannah's historic district on Sept. 3.
Café 78, named for 1978, the year of Savannah College of Art and Design's founding, will replace the former Jittery Joe's in the Ex Libris Bookstore, 228 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
Café 78 will feature a relaxed yet stylish dining atmosphere, complete with marble bistro tables.
The menu includes handmade breakfast and lunch dishes, with an emphasis on all-natural ingredients.
Both Café 78 and Gryphon, another SCAD dining location, will serve a signature dessert showcasing locally sourced honey in honor of the school's mascot, Art the Bee, throughout the year.
The café and culinary touches are just one of the many ways SCAD is celebrating its 35-year legacy as one of the nation's leaders in arts education.
