Rain or shine, you can guarantee vendors and volunteers will be out at Forsyth Park come Saturday morning to offer some of their best fruits, vegetables, plants and more.

Forsyth Farmers' Market organizers are also seeking donations for a free cookbook library they plan to start in early summer. Donations can be dropped off at the main market table.

Vendors include: Adam's Farm, Avondale Apiary, B&G Honey Farms, Berry Farms, Billy's Botanicals, Carolina Plantation Rice, Clark & Sons, Dragonfly Farms, Flatland Farms, George Wilson, Georgia Buffalo, Green Bridge Farm, Gruber Farm, Hunter Cattle, Joseph Fields Farm, Lil Red Barn Farm, Ogeechee River Gardens, Ozzie Mack Produce, Readee's Bees, Alake's Pecans, Savannah River Farms, Southern Swiss Dairy, Tierra Verde Farm, Walker Farms, Castra Rota, Chocolate Lab, Exit Strategy, Foods of the Farm, Frali Gourmet, Meatless Meals, Perc, Vegetable Kingdom, Verdant Kitchen and Earth Treasures.

If you don't see your favorite vendor listed, go to the main table or check the market's Facebook page before you head out Saturday morning.

Another way to support the market is the Friends of Forsyth Farmers' Market program. For a $25 donation, you get a market tote and a weekly discount card for the vendor of the week. Donations go toward the costs of running the market, such as insurance, banking fees, etc.

This week's vendor of the week is Lil Red Barn Farm, an organic farm in Sylvania owned by Red and Nancy Smith. The couple tended a small backyard garden for many years, then retired to a larger piece of property in Georgia to start farming in earnest.  With a lot of research and hard work, they've begun to harvest enough to bring to their local, organic goods to the market!
