Nicholas Sparks, author of 11 New York Times bestselling books, will visit Savannah in October for a speaking engagement sponsored by the Savannah Book Festival.
The event will be held at 6 p.m. Oct. 8, at Trustees Theater, 216 E. Broughton St. Sparks is the author of the No. 1 bestsellers "The Notebook," "Message in a Bottle" and "The Last Song."
More than 89 million copies of Sparks' books are in print worldwide. Eight of his novels have been adapted into major motion pictures, including "The Last Song," which starred Miley Cyrus and was filmed on Tybee Island.

Sparks' visit is part of a national tour for his latest book, "The Longest Ride," which will be released in September. Pre-signed copies of the book will be available for purchase at the event. Although Sparks will not sign books, those who buy the book at the theater will be invited to greet him immediately after the presentation.
Tickets are $10 and will go on sale Sept. 2 for members of the Savannah Book Festival LITERATI and sponsors, and Sept. 9 for the general public at the Savannah Box Office. For information, call 912-525-5050.
