Aside from the nationally-renowned Savannah Jazz Festival continuing to take place this weekend, it may seem at first glance like there's not a whole lot going on in Savannah this weekend. But don't forget: It is Savannah, after all, and there's always something going on; you've just got to be aware of it. Just take one glance at our Big Calendar, and you'll see there's no shortage of interesting, fun, weird and cultural events this weekend.

From a theatrical performance of "Equus" (sorry, no Daniel Radcliffe in this show, but you still won't want to miss it), to a massive free blues concert in Forsyth Park, to a decked-out fashion party downtown, there's lots to do.

So, try to take your mind off worries like a potential government shutdown - at least until Monday - and get out and enjoy yourself this weekend.

We somehow feel confident that the recently departed local craftsman, William "Freddie" McCullough, of Bloomingdale, whose obituary in Saturday's Savannah Morning News sparked national media attention, would approve of you having a little fun. Have a lust for life like Freddie. Get out and do something memorable this weekend. "Be the myth. Be the legend."

The full list of events taking place in Savannnah this weekend is almost as long as Abercorn Street itself, so to save you some time, here's your weekly "Top 10 Things to Do" list.

Log in with your Facebook account to add the events to your own personalized schedule that you can save on your phone. And, if you haven't already, download the free DoSavannah mobile app to have the full calendar on hand and a wealth of extra useful features no matter where you are.
