Arts Resource Collective of Savannah is partnering with Hospice Savannah Inc. to present this year's Artists & Artisans Tour. On the evening of Feb. 8, several Historic District homes will open their doors for a ticketed tour exploring local art and artists, as well as food and beverage pairings by local culinary masters.

The premiere art event will begin downtown at Judge Realty and weave through several homes on East Jones Street displaying paintings, photography, mixed media and outdoor sculpture by over 30 local artists. Homes will feature wine selections, food stations donated by Savannah's highly acclaimed restaurant The Grey, and a crafted cocktail donated by The 1970 Vodka.

Now in its fourth year, the event offers local artists, who may not have representation in the community, an opportunity to display work.

"It also allows the community to see how the art looks as part of the décor, to experience the feeling it brings to the room," said Gale Stevens, chair of the event.

It also fits nicely into this year's theme "Under the Influence," which explores how Savannah has influenced each artist and their work as well as how their work has influenced Savannah.

"Artists have been rooted in our community for centuries. Savannah is a creative destination," said Stevens. "This event is an opportunity for talented residents of Savannah to show their work, and a creative way for everyone else to discover and support homegrown talent."

Lynn Bowling, vice president of ARC, agreed.

"Savannah is on the map. We are an art city," he said. "Events that support local art reinforce that standing. It gives breath to the artists of our region."

Ticket proceeds and a portion of art sales support both ARC's mission of arts advocacy in Savannah and the many extra programs and community services offered by Savannah's only nonprofit, community-based hospice.
