Update: The Savannah Book Festival's spring 2014 event, a luncheon with bestselling author Tami Hoag set for May 8 at The Landings Plantation Club, has been canceled.
According to Robin Gold, executive director of the book festival, unforeseen circumstances forced Hoag to cancel. Gold said it is hoped Hoag will be able to participate in a festival event at some point.
Checks already sent in to hold tickets are being returned. For information, go to www.savannahbookfestival.org or call 912-598-4040.
Hoag, who has written more than 30 New York Times bestsellers, including crime thrillers "Deeper Than the Dead" and "Secrets to the Grave," has more than 30 million books in print. Tickets are $50 each and include lunch and a hardback copy of "The 9th Girl," Hoag's most recently published book.
More information on the special event and LITERATI membership is available on the festival's website or by calling 912-598-4040.
