If you missed the open casting call for "Magic Mike XXL" last month at Forsyth Park but you're still dreaming of catching a glimpse of Channing Tatum and the shirtless cast, don't fear: You've still got a chance to land a spot as an extra alongside Tatum, Joe Manganiello and Matt Bomer in the sequel that's set to begin filming in Savannah later this month.
On Friday, Tatum posted a video to his Facebook page announcing a contest to win a role as an extra in the film that is slated for release in July 2015. In the video that lasts just more than a minute, Tatum said the contest is something they hoped to do with the first film, but didn't have time. The video has been shared more than 35,000 times since it was posted.
"We want to bring people into the 'Magic Mike' experience and get a little up close and personal, if you will," Tatum says in the video.
Winners will travel to the set and be able to have their pictures taken with Tatum and other cast members, but the big prize is winning a spot as an extra in some of the dance scenes.
"... But more importantly you will get to be an extra in the audience during some of these crazy dance numbers," he says, "And I can promise you, they're crazy this time."
Tatum urges fans to be creative by submitting pictures or videos on their social media pages showing why they are the ultimate "Magic Mike" fan and want to be an extra.
The contest ends Sept. 29 and all entries must include the hashtag #MagicMikeContest.
