Hundreds of Candice Glover fans invaded the Lowcountry as the American Idol winner came back home and performed at the Tanger Outlet Center in a free concert.

Taking the stage and singing her heart out, Candice Glover returns home to her fans, months after winning American Idol. Since Idol, Glover says her life has been nonstop, "I definitely haven't gotten a chance to sit still. I have been very busy. It's just like what I thought it would be. I knew it would be a lot of work, but it is a lot more work, it's that times 10. I'm enjoying every second of it. I wouldn't change anything," says Glover.

Even though she has been busy, Thursday night she returned home to sing at the "Candice for a Cure" concert. Funds from the event go towards breast cancer research, an issue that hits close to home for Glover.

"A lot of people are affected by it. I'm just glad I could help raise money because everybody wants to fight this disease," says Glover.

During my one on one interview with the winner, I got a chance to ask her questions about pretty much anything. Questions varied from her music career to her expectations on the next season of American Idol.

"Starting in October, I'll get with some writers and producers. They have me working with some great people," says Glover.

And although Glover says her life is now center stage, she will forever be our hometown girl.
