Velvet Gala

5:30-8 p.m. Jan. 18. Cohen’s Retreat, 5715 Skidaway Road. The Mediation Center of the Coastal Empire will host its Velvet Gala fundraiser featuring Ricardo Ochoa & His Gypsy Jazz Quartet, drinks, appetizers and a raffle. Holiday Extension Party

6 p.m. Jan. 21. Home of Lynne and Charles Davis. The American Traditions Vocal Competition will host its Holiday Extension Party with a performance by ATC artistic director and 2014 Gold Medal winner Mikki Sodergren. The night includes a buffet, desserts, wine and beer. Proceeds benefit the ATC’s education initiative. The Park Place Outreach Youth Emergency Shelter will host its 2018 Celebration of Love Gala to commemorate its 33rd anniversary on Feb. 2.
