Check out a new pub crawl, a Tybee tradition and even "Mario Gras" as the Savannah area parties for the Mardi Gras holiday. 

Feb. 10

Mardi Gras Tybee

Noon-6 p.m. Feb. 10. Memorial Park, Tybee Island. The ninth annual Mardi Gras Tybee features a parade, costume contest, live music and street parties. Free, family- and pet-friendly. More info at www.mardigrastybee.com or 912-786-5444. Read more in our story here.

Mario Gras

8-11 p.m. Feb. 10. The Chromatic Dragon, 514 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. The Chromatic Dragon is putting its own nerdy spin on your favorite Cajun holiday. Expect a costume contest, themed drinks, Mario king cakes, jambalaya, and even Marioke (karaoke with a Mario theme). More info at www.chromaticdragon.com.

Feb. 13

Mardi Gras River Street Pub Crawl

4-9 p.m. Feb. 13. River Street Savannah. The Savannah Waterfront Association and Abita Brewing Co. are bringing Mardi Gras to Savannah. The Fat Tuesday pub crawl begins at Dub’s Pub and ends at Bayou Café. Tickets are $20 and include a gift bag with the pub crawl punch card, T-shirt, pint glass and beads. A portion of proceeds go to the Audubon Nature Institute’s Gulf United for Lasting Fisheries. Abita Brewing will be matching this donation. The grand prize includes transport from the airport for lunch and a VIP tour of Abita’s brewery, followed by dinner at one of New Orleans’ best restaurants and a two-night stay in the city. Get your card punched at all the bars, buy an Abita beer and find the king cake baby along the crawl to be eligible for the grand prize drawing. Get tickets at www.Eventbrite.com.

Mardi Gras wine tasting fundraiser

5:30-8 p.m. Feb. 13. Johnnie Ganem’s Upstairs Rebel Room, 501 Habersham St. Join in on Fat Tuesday fun, spirits and food. All proceeds go to Liam's Land for medical research grants for lymphatic malformation and vascular anomalies. Admission is $15 at the door. More info at www.liamsland.org.
