Top picks: A jam-packed weekend with Tybee Pirate Fest, Savannah Oktoberfest and more

05 Oct 2017

Do editor Heather Henley joins WSAV's "The Bridge" to preview the best the weekend has to offer.

Four days of Tybee Island Pirate Festival kick off with the Oct. 5 Buccaneer Ball at The Crab Shack, followed by the festival fun and a parade on Oct. 7. Get all the details on this 13th annual event here

One of Savannah's most anticipated annual events returns to Forsyth Park on Oct. 8. Picnic in the Park features a free concert with the Savannah Philharmonic and other school and military groups, as well as a picnic table contest with big prizes. Get there early for all the music and don't miss the cannons during the "1812 Overture." More info in our story here

Savannah's River Street will be the home to lots of German beer, food, live music and fun, including the always popular Wiener Dog Races, from Oct. 6-8. Admission to the fest is free, but costs for vendors and activities vary. See the music schedule and learn how to sign up your pup for the races here

And finally, looking ahead because you don't want to miss it, Savannah Greek Festival is back for an amazing 67th year, from Oct. 12-14 at St. Paul's Hellenic Center. You'll get to check out Greek music and dancing, and of course, lots of great savories and sweets. Read more here

Look for Heather's weekend preview on "The Bridge" from 11 a.m.-noon every Wednesday on WSAV-TV or catch the live stream.
