New Year’s Resolution bar crawl

4-11 p.m. Dec. 30. The New Year’s Resolution Bar Crawl starts at Stafford’s Public House, 306 W. Upper Factor’s Walk. Cost is $10 by Dec. 15, $15 by Dec. 29 and $30 day of event. For $10, add on the official T-shirt, or be one of the first 250 crawlers to complete a scorecard to get a free T-shirt. You do not have to buy a drink to have your scorecard marked. Up the Cup on River Street

2 p.m. to 1 a.m. Dec. 31. Rousakis Plaza, River Street. Up the Cup New Year’s Eve Celebration features a digital light show, countdown clock, the raising of the giant to-go cup and fireworks hosted by the Savannah Waterfront Association. Live music with Andrew Gill and Jim Marshall at 2:30 p.m.; Keith & Ross at 4:30 p.m.; and Junkyard Angel at 8 p.m. Info at riverstreetsavannah.com. 

Dinner, music at Good Times Jazz

5 p.m.-midnight. Dec. 31. Good Times Jazz Bar & Restaurant, 107 W. New Year's Dance

6:30 p.m.-midnight. Dec. 31. Savannah Elks Lodge, 183 Wilshire Blvd. Dance the night away to Sassy Cats & the Toms featuring sax player Charlie Sherrill. Tybee Polar Plunge 2018

Noon. Jan. 1. Tybee Pier & Pavilion. Start the new year by taking the Tybee Polar Plunge into the brisk Atlantic Ocean. The day includes the Gang of Goofs costume contest (groups of three or more) and parade, with $300 grand prize. Costume contest teams must also register for the plunge. All proceeds benefit the nonprofit Tybee Post Theater. Cost is $25 per adult and $15 per child; includes a long-sleeved T-shirt. Register at tybeeposttheater.org.
