Fort Stewart will celebrate Independence Day and the centennial of southeast Georgia's 3rd Infantry Division on Wednesday, July 4, at Fort Stewart. The day's events include:
• 3rd ID run: The soldiers of the division and the installation will run in formation in celebration of the division's centennial. The run will begin shortly after 6:30 a.m.
• A soldier and family day picnic at Newman Field: Activities are from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will include games, food, inflatables, swimming, bowling and other recreational activities. The picnic portion will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. This event is free and is for active duty military and families only.
• A free concert: The public is welcome to enjoy live entertainment from rock band 3 Doors Down, country duo LOCASH and rhythm and blues group Jagged Edge. The evening will close with a fireworks display for the whole family. Installation gate open to the public at 4 p.m., concert gates open at 5:30 p.m., and the show starts at 7 p.m.

Hunter Army Airfield will celebrate Independence Day on Tuesday, July 3, at a family field day from 8-10 p.m. Members of the 3rd ID band will play stirring music and a fireworks display will begin at 9:30 p.m. This event also is free.
