Savannah-area residents can get ready for a day full of food truck goodies with two separate festivals happening Sept. 23.
First up, Pooler Chamber of Commerce is hosting its inaugural Pooler Food Truck Festival from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at West Chatham Middle School.
Pam Southard, executive director of the Pooler Chamber of Commerce, helped organize the large event with over 20 food truck vendors. The day also features rides and other fun, plus live music by Band of Brothers and Kim Gunn.
"From barbecue to tacos, subs to seafood, ice cream and more, there will be something to satisfy all taste buds," said Southard.
Some of the dishes to expect include Japanese rice bowls from Savannah-based Yoshi's Kitchen, modernized American tacos by Savannah's Dark Shark Taco Attack!, and even 17 flavors of ice cream from the Ben & Jerry's CowMobile, plus much more. Find more details here.
The Savannah Bananas' Field of Food Trucks from 1-4 p.m. at Grayson Stadium offers up a unique twist: All-you-can-eat samples of 60 different items from 15 food trucks. The day also features live music by Thomas Claxton & The Myth and Levi Moore, as well as inflatables and other games, plus NFL games on display for the football fans.
Some highlights to expect include Greek gyros and Korean bulgogi from Savannah's Magic Food Truck, wood-fired pizza from Myrtle Beach, S.C.'s Benitos Rolling Oven, New Orleans-style po’ boys from Charleston, S.C.'s SOCU and much more. Find the full list of offerings here.
