Keeping up with all of the new restaurant concepts rolling into Savannah became a full-time job a long time ago.

Good problems to have, I suppose, not only for those of us here at Eat It and Like It, but also for locals who like to get out and try new things. That's to say nothing about 14 million-plus tourists who are coming through town every single year.

We've already discussed a couple of those openings that you can expect over the next few weeks, the most anticipated being La Scala Ristorante, the new Italian restaurant at 37th and Abercorn. Beyond that, Toasted Barrel, a grilled cheese and cocktails spot, is coming to the corner of Oglethorpe and Montgomery streets. Bobbie's Latin Diner is now open at Habersham and Anderson streets; the same folks behind Fork & Dagger are operating that one. Read more about all those at dosavannah.com/dinesavannah.

There's also an upscale Mexican concept in the works in the Victorian District. The expected opening there is a moving target, but it will be around Halloween.

Meanwhile, here are four (yes four) more spots where we are preparing to eat it and like it:

The Wyld Oyster Bar

This opening is actually about a week away. Located upstairs from El Coyote at Whitaker and Victory, The Wyld Oyster Bar is just that, a spin-off of the very popular waterfront Wyld Dock Bar. There will be a smallish menu to start, but plenty of cocktails, beer and seating to hang out upstairs on Savannah's most underutilized deck. Well, of course, until now.

I've spoken to the guys already and will have more from them next week. Expected opening Oct. 3.

Rhett

Rhett is the new restaurant opening inside of the all-new Alida Hotel on the west end of River Street near MLK Jr. Boulevard. We've seen the space and it will be beautiful. Lots of glass looking out onto River Street and the brand-new Kessler project along the river, but also lots of space for private dining and groups.

The menu, I am told, is "approachable" and "fun." Then again, that's what everyone says their menu is. Expected opening early October. More on that soon as well. The hotel will also feature a rooftop bar called The Lost Square with quite possibly the best views of the Savannah River in town.

Better than Sex

The third location of this dessert restaurant franchise (Key West and Orlando being the others) is set to open on Broughton Street between Montgomery and MLK Jr. Boulevard. Yes, right around the corner from local favorite Lulu's Chocolate Bar.

We are scheduled to visit next week, but I can already tell you, this is different. With items like "Tongue Bath Truffle," "Peanut Butter Perversion" and "Three Way," you can scratch that next 7-year-old's birthday party off of the list immediately. The cocktails sport some names like "Man Candy," "Slip Inside" and "All Nighter." OK, I am amused. Meanwhile, consider the envelope pushed while those pearls are being clutched across Chatham County.

The Grey Market

We've been watching the space at 109 Jefferson St. (near Broughton) with great anticipation as to what would open there. Finally, a couple of weeks ago, we got our first peek. According to Garden and Gun Magazine, it will be called The Grey Market, lunch counter spinoff brought to you by The Grey. Some hot foods, some sandwiches, some grab and go, some eat in. Look for that to open in October.

See you on TV,

Jesse

• Don't look now, but Picnic in the Park is a little over a week away on Sunday, Oct. 7. Start making plans now! Details at savannahphilharmonic.org.

• If you are late to the party, don't forget: We've moved our television show to 11:30 a.m. Sunday mornings on WTOC. You can find us there right before CBS' "The NFL Today."

• If you ever find yourself in Hinesville at the farmers' market (3-7 p.m. Thursdays) do yourself a favor and have some ribs from Sho'nuff BBQ.
