Savannah is one of the most haunted cities in America, making it a playground for ghost hunters and lovers of all things paranormal. Most locals have a good ghost story to share, and visitors love to listen.
In the past, a variety of paranormal investigators have conducted research in the area, but for the first time, an allegedly haunted locale will be investigated by none other than the stars of the Destination America TV show "Ghost Brothers" — and you can be a part of it.
"Ghost Brothers" follows ghost hunters and childhood friends Dalen Spratt, Juwan Mass and Marcus Harvey while the trio travels America in search of paranormal activity. The team of investigators is led by Spratt, with Mass and Harvey aiding in technical support. While visiting Savannah, they have partnered up with Escape Savannah and Full Moon Tours to offer a unique Halloween experience filled with games, meet and greets, investigations and a walking tour.
The two-day event kicks off Oct. 26 at the McDonald House on Gaston Street. The 10,710-square-foot home was built in 1866 in the heart of the Historic District for Donald McDonald and remodeled in 1899. Few details were found about the original owner, which makes the home a more alluring investigation and experience. Before it goes through another transformation by its new owner, the Ghost Brothers are ready to investigate.
Becca Cook, event coordinator for Escape Savannah, says the Oct. 26 meet and greet with the crew also offers escape room games every 30 minutes.
“We are thrilled to host the Ghost Brothers while they travel the United States. The boys are Atlanta-based and have done some investigation in our area," she says.
Day two will be amazing as well, according to Ghost Brother Harvey. A walking tour that kicks off in Chippewa Square will start at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 27, followed by an exclusive ghost hunt investigation from 10 p.m.-midnight in the McDonald House. Both events are limited to only 30 people.
“One of my favorite spots in the world; I love going go Savannah. I have visited at least five times. Sorrel Weed House was my first investigation ever, so you know that was special," he says. "I am hoping you all know I will be bringing some soul to the paranormal in Savannah."
Ghost Brother Mass adds: “I love the city’s memorable architecture and historic charm. Savannah never disappoints, which is why I can’t wait to experience my first Halloween in Savannah."
Savannah just keeps getting better after a few visits, Ghost Brother Spratt concludes.
"I've done several investigations in Savannah but the most memorable was my first haunted pub crawl," he says. "I am here to answer the questions: Are ghosts for real? And why is every ghost white? I'm hoping to bring humor and sincerity. Let's get some questions answered and have a creepily good time!”
