There’s no way you can visit the 105 museums or historical sites at this year’s Super Museum Sunday, but if you plan ahead, there’s a good chance you can finally check off a few places on your list of historical places in our area that you’ve always wanted to visit.

Georgia History Festival’s Super Museum Sunday is Feb. 10. The event offers free admission to historical sites, art museums, house museums and other points of interest in Savannah and throughout Georgia. While many locations are open from noon to 4 p.m., some sites will operate alternate hours and will have those hours posted on the Super Museum Sunday website.

According to Patricia Meagher, director of communications for Georgia Historical Society, there is also a printable map on their website to help you map out your day. To see the map and full list of sites and hours, go to

“We have more sites than ever this year with 105,” she adds. “And about a third of those are right here in Chatham County. … It’s a wonderful family day … and you check out places you’ve always wanted to visit.”

She adds that the staff at Georgia Historical Society really loves it when guests post pictures of their Super Museum Sunday visits and tag Georgia Historical Society on social media. You should also tag your photos with #GHF2019.
