Following the quarterfinal event of the annual American Traditions Vocal Competition (ATC) on Feb. 20, the 12 semifinalist have been announced.

Out of a field of 28, Ashleigh Smith, Christian Douglas, Cyrille Aimée, Emily Yocum Black, Gabrielle Stravelli, George Lovett, Hannah Zazzaro, Jorell Williams, Julianne Daly, Katherine McCreary, Liz Lang, Mykal Kilgore will advance to the final round set for Feb. 21 at 7:30 p.m. at Skidaway Island United Methodist Church, 54 Diamond Causeway.

 

The ATC recognizes the following genres of American music: opera, musical theatre, Hollywood, jazz, folk, country, pop/rock singer-songwriters (1980-today), art song, gospel, songs of Johnny Mercer, blues, religious music, popular music of 1950-1980, Great American Songbook, and cabaret.

“These talented contestants have left our judges and audience stunned with their performances, and we’re so thrilled to see them make it to the semifinals,”ATC Artistic Director Mikki Sodergren said in a press release. “The artists still have so much amazing talent to show off as they continue competing to become the 2019 ATC Gold Medal winner!”

Day passes to the semifinals cost $35 each and can be purchased by visiting www.americantraditionscompetition.com/tix. The ATC will move to the Historic Savannah Theatre on Friday, Feb. 23 with a free master class at 3 p.m. and the final round at 8 p.m.
