Maxwell takes inspiration from a variety of sources ranging from geometric architecture to album covers to create oil paintings that explore how form and color influence one another in exciting ways.

“Conversation” by Andre Bertolino: April 30-July 2, opening reception 6-9 p.m. May 3; The Sentient Bean, 13 E. Park Ave.; sulfurstudios.org. Spoon-printed lino-cut prints on handmade paper that narrate an improbable story with no beginning, middle or end.
