If you waited until the last minute to get your tickets to this year’s Tybee Wine Festival presented by the Tybee Post Theater, you’re gonna kick yourself.

Tickets to the Wine and Dine at The Deck? Sold out. Tickets to Pickin’ and Shuckin’ with Beer and Bubbles? Sold out. VIP tickets to The Grand Wine Tasting? Sold out.

But you can still get general admission tickets for $65 to The Grand Wine Tasting at 3 p.m. April 27 at the grounds near the Tybee Island Light Station, until those sell out, and they will. All proceeds benefit the Tybee Post Theater.

Guests should plan ahead for traffic since the weekend traffic to Tybee Island can be crowded. You will see signs and banners directing you to festival parking and shuttles and you should turn left onto Byers Street, Polk Street (toward the RV park) or Campbell Avenue and follow the signs.

The Grand Wine Tasting is considered the festival’s signature event and features more than 100 international wines and samplings from some of Tybee’s most popular restaurants. Guests are welcome to bring a blanket or chair and relax on the grounds.

Melissa Turner, executive director Tybee Post Theater, says The Sapphire Bullets of Pure Love will also perform on the festival stage.

“They are a Savannah favorite,” Turner said. “Just a really great dance band.

“It’s a great event out here on Tybee,” she added. “We are really happy with the success, and people travel from all over to come every year. Tybee Post Theater is a nonprofit so this fundraiser helps us with operations and programming.”

The Grand Wine Tasting also features a silent auction and Turner says this year’s auction is bigger than ever.

“We could not do this without these great distributors and Tybee restaurants that give so much to make this happen,” Turner says. “Our hats are off and our hearts are full.”
