From hip-hop dancing to classically trained musicians, vocal performers and spoken word artists, Burning the Stage has something for everyone.

The entire show has been curated by Ziyi Wang, a Savannah College of Art and Design master's degree candidate studying business design and arts leadership.

The show takes place at 6:30 p.m. May 12 at Savannah Repertory Theatre. General admission at the door is $5.

Wang says that while presenting this one-of-a-kind event may be part of her of degree requirements, she says the mission is truly to raise awareness in the community for performing arts and the positive impact of having diverse artists in Savannah. Arts Georgia and the Arts and Culture Alliance of Chatham County have signed on to help sponsor the performance.

“This is a way for the audience to enjoy all types of performing arts in one show,” she said.

Wang says her passion for performing arts comes from her extensive dance background while at the Bejing Dance Academy. While the show promises to be entertaining, Wang also designed special tote bags for the event that she will be giving away to select guests at the show.

“The show will probably end around 8 or 8:30 p.m. and hope everyone leaves with a great appreciation for the arts.”
