Each year the Patriotic Concert honors distinguished military service and finishes with a surprise appearance by a celebrity persona to conduct “Stars and Stripes Forever.” The Fort Stewart 3rd Infantry Division's Honor Guard will present the nation's colors to open the concert.

Suzanne Jackson in conversation: 6 p.m. June 27; Jepson Center for the Arts, 207 W. York St.; Free for members; $8 for non-members; telfair.org. Moderated by Telfair Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art Rachel Reese, artists Suzanne Jackson and Alonzo Davis will discuss the intersections of their art practice and careers. Cohen’s Retreat is hosting a BBQ blowout for their weekly Music & Munchies social event featuring live music from Wood and Steel and all you can eat in-house smoked meats, Brunswick stew, macaroni and cheese, baked beans, and chips. Guests will also have the opportunity to enjoy Southern-inspired cocktails, wine and beer at happy hour prices.

The Healthy Laughter Comedy Tour will feature award-winning Savannah comedian Akintunde, comedian, impressionist and circus ring master Tony Tone, and comedian Nikita B. Healthy Laughter utilizes a live stand-up comedy event to promote healthcare and healthy lifestyle choices via drastically discounted comedy show tickets. There will be free on-site health screenings beginning at 3 p.m., and a Healthy Talk panel discussion at 4 p.m.
