Daughters of the American Revolution Independence Day: 10 a.m. July 4; Colonial Park Cemetery, 200 Abercorn St.; 912-651-6843. Program will take place at the monument of Button Gwinnett, one of Georgia’s three signers of the Declaration of Independence followed by light refreshments.

River Street Independence Day: 4-10 p.m. July 4; Downtown Rousakis Plaza, 115 East River St.; Free. Live entertainment on the Rousakis Plaza Arbor Stage. Bring family, chairs and blankets.

Fourth of July Watermelon Crawl: 7–9 a.m. July 4; Lake Mayer Park, 7235 Sallie Mood Drive; Free. Hosted by Fleet Feet Savannah, this run can be 6-8 miles. After the run, hang out with us and enjoy some watermelon-y goodness. Zero timing or fees.

4th of July celebration: 11 a.m.-9 p.m. July 4; Grand Lake Club, 815 Southbridge Blvd.; 912-233-2466. Backyard BBQ, boiled peanuts, root beer floats and more at this family friendly July 4th celebration.

Sunshine Festival: 7 a.m.- 9:30 p.m. July 4; St. Simons Island Pier Village, 100 Mallory St., St. Simons; The festival begins with a one mile fun run, includes a golf cart parade, a 5K run, live music and a fireworks display.

The Fabulous Equinox Orchestra’s Independence Day: 7-11 p.m. July 4; The Westin, 1 Resort Drive; Tickets prices vary at The Fabulous Equinox Orchestra hosts a concert with a view of the Independence Day Fireworks display. Proceeds benefit Companions For Heroes, which pairs shelter dogs with veterans and first responders.

Marne Independence Day: 7-10 p.m July 4; Flemington Presbyterian Church, 875 Old Sunbury Road, Hinesville; Free admittance. Grammy Award winning band Lady Antebellum pay tribute to the troops live at Donovan Field on Fort Stewart. Base Gates open at 3 p.m.

Fireworks show: 9:15–10 p.m. July 4; Tybrisa St, Tybee Island; Free.

Freedom Fest: 11 a.m.-4 p.m. July 6; Savannah Harley-Davidson, 1 Fort Argyle Rd.; 912-925-0005. Free food, live music and raffles are all a part of this family event.

Fort McAllister Park Independence Day Celebration: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. July 6; Fort McAllister State Park, 3894 Fort McAllister Road, Richmond Hill; 912-727-2339. Watch Civil War drills and rifle and cannon firings. Light snacks.
