Ready to bring a new runway show to locals, Savannah native and fashion designer Stephanie Larck of Jasee O’ Design will be bringing New York City fashion to the Lowcountry.
The Sept. 1 runway show at Red Gate Farms is Larck’s way of creating and infusing fashionistas with some homegrown style and flavor. She is hoping to create a local movement of well-dressed and confident woman in Savannah.
“The idea came from many years of wanting to bring a viable fashion industry to Savannah,” Larck said. “SCAD has done an exemplary job in bringing the students and sophistication, however, no one has actually implemented it. I wanted to do something different in Savannah and bring the industry to the locals. It's about time Savannah is placed outside of their comfort zone.
“At Jasee’O Design & Co., our vision is to create a sparkle in the hearts of our clients as their vision of themselves comes to life. Our company creates this by offering many ways to show ur [sic] essence in a fashion forward manner.”
Founded in 2013, the company is a destination for readymade clothes which are designed, created and sewed locally.
“We also create custom designs, as well an array of other services that not only make you look your best, but feel amazing in the process,” Larck said. The team is "here to build relationships while serving our client’s need of ready-made designs, custom designs, alterations, high end fashion academy, quality fabric, sewing classes, redesigning, fashion shows, fashion parties and more. We ensure that your fashion needs are met with your values in mind. We exist to create experiences where passion and purpose comes together.”
When asked about what we can expect during the runway show, she said, “All your senses will be engaged at this event and of course those senses will be heightened through fashion, performance and style. Guests are welcome to place orders for any pieces they have interest in or talk to the designer about created custom designs.
“The best part of the runway show is that a portion of the proceeds will benefit the 501(C)(3) organization Dawn's Daughter... designed to empower young ladies to explore their leadership potential and build character and confidence. Their team works to give young ladies the tools they need to make responsible decisions so that they may become effective, ethical leaders in their home, school, workplace and community.”
