A 42-year-old Vincent Drive woman was arrested for alleged drunken driving early Friday when her pickup truck plowed into the loading ramp of a tractor-trailer truck that was making a delivery to Golden Pantry on Jefferson Road, Athens-Clarke County police said.
An employee said the crash happened at about 2:35 a.m., when the pickup entered the store’s parking lot at a high rate of speed.
The crash nearly detached the loading ramp from the delivery truck, police said.
The woman, who had an odor of alcoholic beverage on her breath, said she did not see the truck when attempting to park at the store, according to police.
She refused to submit to sobriety testing and was arrested for DUI, police said.
