With an ever-growing restaurant scene in Savannah, it comes as no surprise the city was named one of the top food cities in the South.
Southern Living has announced its 2019 winners for Best Food City in the South. The awards recognized the top ten cities through the South's Best Survey and coming in at No. 3 on the list was Savannah, Ga. Southern Living encouraged patrons visiting Savannah to try The Grey, AlleyCat Lounge, Foxy Loxy Cafe, Wyld Dock Bar, Back in the Day Bakery and Green Truck Pub.
"As always, the competition proved fierce for Best Food City in this year's South's Best Survey," according to the magazine. "Between power players like Charleston and underdogs like Birmingham, this year’s winners may have surprised our editors in how they ranked, but not in the caliber of their food scenes."
Savannah can add this accolade to the many from Southern Living. In 2018, it was recognized for having a top 50 barbecue joint and a best inn by the magazine.
