Pooler connoisseurs of Asian cuisine who are eagerly awaiting the imminent debut of Bewon BBQ — a new Korean restaurant being established alongside U.S. 80 near Coleman Boulevard — have to hold on until mid-November, as the grand opening was delayed due to “unexpected circumstances”, according to a recent post on the restaurant’s Facebook page.
Led by Chef Sunju Pitts, the Bewon Korean BBQ Restaurant aims to serve authentic barbecue specialties of Korea like beef bulgogi, grilled garlic and pork belly, and marinated grilled diagonal-cut beef ribs. Guests will also be able to share hot-pot meals for two featuring seafood, potato and pork, ham and noodles, or tofu.
Traditional specialties on the Bewon BBQ menu include braised pig’s feet and pressed meat, spicy sea snail and cold noodle salad, and tofu with stir-fried kimchi. Weekday lunch specials will also be available between 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
