Fact is that if we sit around waiting for inspiration or a struck of luck, we accomplish nothing. Most aspiring actors have all the knowledge, but absolutely no tools in how to go out and get the job in the field they work so hard for.

This is where Savannah native William Mark McCullough comes in.

McCullough is a professional actor, who has acted opposite Tom Cruise, Mahershala Ali, Channing Tatum, Nicolas Cage, Gabrielle Union, Jessica Alba, Kate Beckinsale, Jennifer Beals, Michael Ironside, Ryan Phillippe and many others, during his career to this point.

“No one helped me when I decided to embark on the path of acting,” McCullough said. “I struggled searching to find the right path. I’ve had a fair amount of success in my career as an actor and I can proudly say that I am a working actor but thus far, I’ve helped no one but myself. This downtime from filming and producing has given me the chance to think and realize that it is time to give back.”

McCullough is opening his Savannah Actors Studio for the first time to teach an intensive free workshop for all actors interested in breaking into the business. The workshop which will be taught internationally through Zoom and is scheduled for Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

During this workshop, McCullough will not teach a theoretical approach to acting. He will be teaching the nuts and bolts of how to audition and act on camera. In addition, McCullough will teach participants business strategies, techniques and the mindset needed for a long-term career as an actor.

“I’ve worked along many big names and some are considered not to be technically the best (actor) but yet they get booked,” he said. “Over and over again, they get booked and are making a fortune creating amazing projects and the audiences loves them.

“You can be the greatest dramatic actor that ever lived but if you can’t connect with producers, writers, casting directors to name a few, the road will be much harder,” he added.

During the workshop McCullough can assist you with the basics of recording a self-tape audition, he teaches coaching and preparation for an in-person audition.

“There’s a mindset you need to create a successful career in any path,” McCullough said.

“I want you to learn the Hollywood path to success from anywhere you might be,” he said. “I want to guide others trying to break into the field. You do not have to live in Los Angeles to be a successful actor. I’ve filmed in places as far as the Ukraine and returned home (to Savannah). This is when (actors) need to develop our electronic press kits and social media presence, and learn how we market ourselves. There are many common mistakes an actor makes, and I am just going to teach you how to avoid those and what has worked for me.”
