History gets a burlesque lesson in Tied & Tasseled’s newest show, Historical Hoes, at Club One.

The burlesque and drag troupe is back with its second show of the summer on Thursday at 9 p.m. Tied & Tasseled had to cancel some spring shows due to the pandemic, but after a little reorganizing with Club One to allow for social distancing, the troupe is excited to return to the stage.

"We’ve limited our capacity," said Mandi FruFru, Tied & Tasseled’s producer.

"When people come upstairs to be seated, [Club One] has someone to seat for you to make sure you’re six feet away from the other group, and masks are required."

For those who have never seen a burlesque show live, FruFru explained that it won’t be exactly like the ones seen on TV or in movies.

"We do burlesque that’s heavily inspired by the BDSM community as well as the cosplay/nerd community."

Each show has a theme: The Historical Hoes performance is about familiar, historic people, but as FruFru described it, with "a fun, new spin."

One of FruFru’s favorite performances to watch for is Lady Godiva’s naked horse ride.

"[The performer] has a giant, plush kid’s stuffed horse toy that she can ride on the stage."

The troupe will be introducing two new performers at this show: Sin A Moan and Miss Peaches Fischer. They are part of the new faces that joined the troupe in January.

For show-goers who want to tip, there is now an electronic tipping option using Venmo, Cash App, and PayPal. It allows the audience to show appreciation for performers while staying safely seated and socially distance.

"Also, some people don’t like to get up from their seat and go up to the stage and throw [money]."

Tickets for the show are $15 and the show is open to those 18 and up. Tickets can be purchased in advance on Club One’s website at ClubOne-Online.com.
